Lore: Matty Trotter
I’m a storyteller at heart—with a background in marketing, casting, and design, I bring brands to life through thoughtful strategy and soul. Whether I’m crafting a campaign, building a world, or just trying to hit Celestial 3 in Marvel Rivals, I put my whole heart into what I do. Inspired daily by my two hairless cats (Gillbert and Salem), my work is rooted in curiosity, creativity, and connection. This portfolio is a reflection of that. oakland cemetery Cinematic storytelling meets social strategy.
This Halloween feature blended history, atmosphere, and community engagement into one of the brand’s most memorable storytelling moments. As the creative director behind the project, I led concept development, direction, and editing—pairing cinematic visuals of Oakland Cemetery with a narrative that balanced reverence and curiosity, transforming a local landmark into a piece of living history.
An accompanying Story Poll
“Fact or folklore: Ghosts still roam Oakland Cemetery?”
This interactive element encouraged audience participation, driving shares and responses beyond typical real estate content performance. The reel achieved 7× higher shares and 4× the reach of prior videos, proving that when storytelling evokes emotion, it resonates far beyond its niche.
The project showcased my ability to fuse visual storytelling with strategic engagement design — transforming brand content into cultural conversation.
Creative Direction, Photography, Copywriting, & Editing.
This series celebrates Atlanta’s architectural storytelling—where craftsmanship, history, and design converge. I photographed and edited each image, crafting visuals that highlight the ornate detail and emotional character of Inman Park and Grant Park’s Victorian homes.
The goal was to merge education with enchantment—transforming historical architecture into content that feels both cinematic and accessible. The Form vs. Detail series quickly emerged as one of the brand’s most engaging content pillars, showing that when storytelling meets design, audiences take notice.
Through composition, tone, and caption writing, I aimed to reframe these homes as characters—each façade a glimpse into Atlanta’s resilience and artistry. The result balanced heritage and personality, appealing equally to design enthusiasts, historians, and homebuyers.
Form vs. Detail: Victorian Edition
🎩✨ Step into a time when gas lamps glowed, trolley lines hummed, and ornate homes ruled the streets of the Inman Park & Grant Park neighborhoods of Atlanta: glimpse the lovely spectacle of Victorian-style houses.
Or as I like to call them, “the drama queens.” 👑
Built between roughly 1840–1915, these spectacular Victorian houses in Atlanta weren’t just homes—they were statements. With their towers, bay windows and bold colours, they reflected a city on the rise after the Civil War, when Atlantans’ dreams were as tall as their turrets.
Every gingerbread-trimmed gable and asymmetrical façade whispered: “Look at me—I’ve arrived.” If Victorian-style homes were a person, they’d be the friend that ALWAYS arrives dressed to the nines. Inside, ceilings soared, fireplaces glowed, and families gathered in parlors lit by electric bulbs (and yes, that was cutting-edge at the time).
Today, these gems in Inman Park, Grant Park and beyond carry the legacy of Atlanta’s boom-town days. Their steeple-like rooflines and intricate details tell a story of craft, wealth, ambition—and the unstoppable spirit of a city rebuilding itself.
Swipe through and let your eyes roam the turrets, the wrap-around porches and those cheerful paint palettes. Today, these Atlanta treasures remind us that craftsmanship never goes out of style.
It’s what drew me to study art and architecture in the first place—understanding how design tells the story of who we were, and who we’re becoming. Now, I get to channel that same passion into helping others find a home that helps tell their story.

not your typical Hospital flyer.
In Grady Hospital’s waiting rooms and cafeterias, traditional posters fade into the background. For #MoveForGrady, I took a different approach—'Mission Atlanta,' a sci-fi-inspired poster with a cryptic QR code. No obvious CTA, just intrigue. By sparking curiosity and social discovery, it turns passive viewers into active participants, proving that sometimes, the best way to spread awareness is to let people uncover it themselves.

A well-crafted welcome email is a powerful tool for audience engagement—yet when I subscribed to Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop, I never received one. Seeing an opportunity, I applied my email marketing expertise to create a mockup that tells the brand’s story, sets expectations, and drives conversions. This design strategically incorporates user-generated content, attention stimuli, and an exclusive first-time buyer incentive to foster engagement and build community. The video simulates the user experience, showcasing how the email would guide subscribers through key touchpoints.

Bridging the Brand Story Gap
How do you communicate a brand’s deep community impact when there’s little visual content to show it?
Grady Health Foundation is a pillar of hope for Atlanta, but its content lacked the emotional depth to showcase that impact. I created a story-driven video that transforms Grady’s mission into something people can see, hear, and feel.
By curating news audio/headlines, aligning stock footage, and crafting a compelling narrative, I turned an abstract brand promise into a tangible, visual story—one that reinforces Grady’s vital role in the community.

Branded Micro-Content for Comic Marketing
A short-form video series I created, breaking down comic lore into fast, engaging content. I handled research, scripting, voiceover, and visuals to drive discovery and boost engagement.
